April

As spring was ushered in with the month of April so were some landmark changes to True Hope Counseling.

As March met up with April, True Hope Counseing obtained not-for-profit statu! This was a huge milestone within the ministry and one that was greeted with praises and thanksgiving to the Lord. Instead of taking the "usual" three months and having to do revisions before obtaining this staus, it was obtained within 28 days and not one revision had to be done! This seemed to be yet another confirmation that this ministry does indeed belong to God and He is making a way for it!

In the middle of the month the True Hope Counseling Board met for the first time. It was a blessing to the three counselors at True Hope to have this group of godly men and women be willing to join the vision for the ministry. It was a Board meeting that brought hope and renewed energy to me personally and words cannot express how deeply I appreciate the support, encouragement, and time commitment of these people.

As I shared at the Board meeting a few weeks ago, I expressed my impatience, frustration, and doubt that True Hope Counseling wasn't "big" yet and that it seemed getting our name out there, via the community and the internet was just "too slow of a process". In response to this a Board member shared a quote that they later gave to me to put up on my wall.
He told me, "Melissa, slow down and enjoy the hike. Let the process be beautiful, not just the destination." I look at that quote many times a day and remind myself that God is in the journey as much as He is the end result.
Our journey still has many miles to it before the vision of True Hope Counseling is fully realized. However, I am now purposefully looking at the blessings that come each day to our Center, whether financial gifts, thank you cards, Board members, government recognition, etc., and in so doing am blessed beyond measure! So far, it has been a journey of beauty and miracles!
